2010_12 Master Bath Completed

To compare myself with so great a carpenter as Noah would be an over statement, but I can finally say, "The arc is finished!" Since my last entry there have been about 6 trips to pick up the custom order trim, only to find out that the order was filled incorrectly. Now, in addition to a finished job, I have several boxes of incorrect flexible trim lying around. It was helpful for practice cuts on the angles, but that's about it. All said, one of the most daunting projects for this amateur carpenter to finish the remodel is completed, and came out well.

With one of the first challenges being simply how to get to the large window to finish the trim, I finally built a large platform around and over the claw-foot tub. That was a huge step, as it allowed me to get up close and safely measure and plan the work (and eventually install, finish and paint it). There were several times Josie or the two boys were up on the platform with me, holding the flexible pieces of trim as I measured, clamped, nailed and glued each piece. The platform (shown) is now gone, and set up in the master bedroom as a solid work bench, and the room has been repainted from the original yellow to a light blue. Anything for my baby.

The master bedroom, now vacated, has been transformed to my workshop, allowing me to finish the bedroom and master closet. We're almost done...
